You learn additional maneuvers at higher levels, as shown on Table: The Warblade. Your maneuvers are not affected by spell resistance, and you do not provoke attacks of opportunity when you initiate one. A maneuver usable by warblades is considered an extraordinary ability unless otherwise noted in its description. Once you know a maneuver, you must ready it before you can use it (see Maneuvers Readied, below).

You begin your career with knowledge of six martial maneuvers. These disciplines are chosen at first level and cannot be changed later. You may choose the remaining three disciplines available to you from any of the non-supernatural disciplines printed in the Path of War series. Five of these disciplines are from the Book of Nine Swords: Diamond Mind, Iron Heart, Stone Dragon, Tiger Claw, and White Raven. Maneuvers : Warblades are trained in eight different disciplines. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: You are proficient with simple and martial melee weapons (including those that can be used as thrown weapons), light and medium armor, and all shields except tower shields. Depending on which disciplines he chose to study, he might be a mongoose-swift skirmisher, a fierce master of blades, or a bold commander.īattle. When fighting, he relies on a repertoire of spectacular martial maneuvers. He engages his enemies toe to toe and defeats them through skill at arms. Role: A warblade is a front-line melee combatant, much like a barbarian or fighter. Warblade, often called sword princes, live for the chance to test themselves in battle - the stronger the foe, the greater the flory once and enemy is defeated. But even more important are his athleticism, endurance, daring, recklessness, and joy in the hour of danger. Sheer combat skill is important to a warblade, so he trains intensely with his chosen weapons. Battle is beautiful to him - a perfect moment in which life hands suspended on the bright edge of a sword. Swift, strong, enduring, and utterly confident in his martial skills, he seeks to test himself against worthy foes. (Note: This is the same as D&D's Warblade, but with skills updated to the Witchdusk rules, and more disciplines, maneuvers, and stances.)
